Autism Spectrum Disorder

I have extensive experience working with individuals on the Autism Spectrum Disorder in many different capacities. Due to the nature of the disorder, I always recommend receiving a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation in person which includes the ADOS 2. I am able to provide recommendations for initial Autism Spectrum Disorder evaluations. If an Autism Spectrum Disorder is confirmed, I am able to provide theraputic services which includes various different interventions and psychoeducation.

Autism Spectrum Disorder does not only affect children and is being diagnosed at a much higher rate during an individual’s teenage or adult years than professionals have seen in the past. The disorder is caused a “spectrum” because the symptoms greatly vary from one individual to the next. I love the quote “if you know one person with Autism, then you know one person” because each person is a unique individual with their own needs.

I am also very interested in working with the families, especially parents of children who are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Thankfully, research and awareness continue to grow in regard to the disorder; however, many parents continue to feel isolated, unsupported and may lose close relationships because outsiders just do not understand the challenges they may be facing. If you are a parent of a child with an Autism Spectrum Disorder or another developmental disorder, I encourage you to check out my page titled “ Parent Groups and Workshops”.
